SCBP Open - FAQ:
1. I live near the event venue. Is there a package to enter the tournament without getting the hotel room?
We are not offering a tournament only registration option. Take off your shoes and stay a couple nights!
2. Will there be beer in the cups?
Unlike events hosted at bars, The SCBP Open will not have the issue of people driving home. We will be playing with beer in the cups, with 24 oz of beer distributed per side.
3. What rules will be used?
SCBP tournament rules are based on those used at the World Series. They have been debated heavily, and formulated for fairness, objectivity, and ease of running a large event.
4. Does entry to The SCBP Open include travel?
No. Everyone is responsible for making arrangements to get to the event.
5. What’s included with my entry fee?
For the time being, entry fee includes 2 nights hotel stay, entry to The SCBP Open, and beer for all your tournament games.
6. How will the tournament actually work?
For those of you who have attended the World Series, The SCBP Open will operate in a similar manner. Everyone will play 8 games against randomly assigned opponents. After those games are played, every team will be seeded based on record and cup differential. The top 64 teams will play a double elimination format to determine the champion. The teams left out of the final bracket will play in a single elimination consolation tournament.
