ATLANTIC CITY — The motionless hookers are out and a mechanical bull is in at Bally’s Atlantic City.
The beer pong drinking game and hot wings will feature prominently, as will casino floor dancers called The Vixens.

It’s all part of a $1.5 million renovation that will include the first mechanical bull ride at an Atlantic City casino.

The upgrade is designed to eliminate out-of-date parts of the western-themed Wild Wild West Casino. Animatronic people — including two hookers beckoning from the Lillie Mae’s Social Club bordello — and animals that no longer work will get the boot.

Casino officials say there are no longer any repair personnel who can fix them.
“The Wild Wild West Casino is a much loved and important part of the Bally’s brand,” said Joe Domenico, the casino’s senior vice president and general manager of Bally’s Atlantic City. “This project provides us the opportunity to bring our entertainment, nightlife and gaming opportunities to a new level without diminishing the charm and essence found at the Wild Wild West Casino.”

Part of that charm and essence will come from an area with 12 tables set up for beer pong, in which contestants try to bounce pingpong balls into cups of beer and make opposing players drink when they score.
New slot machines and table games will be added as part of the project, which begins next month and should be finished before July 4.

The western theme will live on, though, with a stage where country and other types of bands will play free concerts.

Bally’s spent $110 million to build the Wild Wild West, which opened in 1997 and was Atlantic City’s first themed casino.

There’s another mechanical bull in a sports bar inside The Pier Shops at Caesars, a non-casino shopping and entertainment complex.
