In the final hour of January 4th, 2010 at the Flamingo Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas Nevada, the sport of beer pong was further legitimized as Ron Hamilton and Mike “Pops” Popielarski of team “Smashing Time” defended their title as WSOBP Champions. This marks the second year they are walking away beer pong’s ultimate bragging rights and a jumbo sized check made out to the tune of $50,000.
The World Series of Beer Pong is the largest, longest-running organized beer pong tournament in the world, created by beer pong players, for beer pong players. This year’s ultimate beer pong tournament drew in over 800 participants from 45 U.S. States and 5 Canadian Provinces, offering the largest payout in beer pong history - $50,000.
Congratulations to Smashing Time’s Ron Hamilton and Mike Popielarski! Stay tuned for more pictures and a full interview!

I seem to recall Smashing Time broke up just a few months prior to the WSOBP. Or was that a smoke screen and a diversion to throw other teams off their game heading into Vegas? Or did they reconcile at the last minute?

A few days, maybe a week before the WSOBP they reconciled and got back together. Smart decision it turns out!
